Photovoltaic for roof and facade

In times of increasing energy costs the use of regenerative energy in the sector of roof and facade construction is particularly important. JET provides adequate solutions that integrate in the architecture of buildings in an ideal way.

Photovoltaik

The JET group realised recently a roof and facade construction with an integrated photovoltaic system.

The customer, a well-known grocery store chain, set for the new building of their branch in Eppingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg) the target to reduce the CO2-output as well as the energy consumption in a sustainable manner. At the same time the architecture of the building should not be disturbed by the photovoltaic system. Rather the system should be integrated as an element of architecture in the external appearance. Our JET engineers mastered this challenge in an impressive way.

The finished construction – two shed roofs with a base area of 5,5 by 55 meters – has been saddled up on the roof of the grocery store. They serve as installation construction for the solar modules and provide the sales room underneath the roof with daylight at the same time. Additional to the roof structures the solar electricity generation is integrated in an extensive curtain wall.

The specially by JET developed aluminium supporting structure again is the basis for the building integrated photovoltaic system that could generate and fet approx. 57,000 kilowatt hours to the electricity grid. Compared with the same amount of energy that would be produced with help of fossil fuels 29 tons of carbon dioxide could be saved per year.
